Arms Race is the Borderlands equivalent of Battle Royale (only with no Royale and not much in the way of Battle) but you will start every run with nothing except some ammo and unmodded Grenades, which means no Guardian Rank, no Action Skill, no Weapons, no Shield etc. To start the Arms Race, you have to accept the mission via a poster on the wall opposite the Lost Loot Machine on Sanctuary III and then Fast Travel to the Stormblind Complex (it's in the Pandora sub-menu of the Galactic Map) and complete a short mission for Axton and Salvador. Step 1: Finish a round of Arms Race, whilst discovering as many areas as possible and extracting what gear you can.īefore killing the boss, I recommend spending time extracting as much gear as you can whilst discovering as many locations as possible so you have a reduced grind later on, so see In the In the Eye of a Murdercane for more details.Īt the end of this step, you will have earned the following trophy: Also, the fight might take a while to get going due to the game not fully recognizing you're there. Heavyweight Harker's health bars can glitch out and become really small so it's hard to tell how much damage you're doing to him. Dying causes the game to temp freeze for a couple of seconds whilst you're respawning. The in-game mail box is inaccessible whilst in Stormblind Complex (this might just be a lousy design choice but I'm not 100% sure. The Custom Waypoints don't work and won't lead you anywhere. Unfortunately, this DLC has some technical problems (in addition to the aforementioned trophy glitches) that make it more difficult/annoying than necessary to get all the trophies: The 1.24 patch has fixed some glitches with this DLC (though unfortunately, not the ones mentioned below) so make sure you have that installed before starting the game. The PS4 and PS5 versions of this DLC stack but no additional peripherals are needed. Thanks to the 1.10 patch, it's now possible to create a pre-leveled character and skip straight to a point where the DLC can be started. If the stars align, you will be done with this DLC in 3-4hrs and then you can move onto the next one.Īll the controls referenced in this Guide are based on my custom setup so please translate them accordingly.ĭue to Gearbox's penchant for fixing exploits and nerfing certain builds/weapons, I unfortunately won't be mentioning any of the more popular ones because there's no guarantee they'll remain useful in the future. Trophy wise, Treat Yo Self varies from slightly glitchy to buggy as hell, depending on which platform you're playing on. There's nothing much to say about this DLC, except you get a new map to explore, some new loot and a small amount of new story. Welcome to my Guide for the Designer's Cut (AKA Arms Race) DLC.
